We make one of these products, so read this knowing that. What follows is what each platform charges and who it is built for, taken from the vendors’ own pricing pages on 28 August 2026 — including the three that publish no usable price at all. Where a rival suits you better than we do, that is said plainly.
The category splits three ways, and that decides your shortlist
Almost every “best AI cold calling software” list treats these as eight versions of one thing. They are not. They are three different products with three different buyers, and picking from the wrong group is how teams end up paying for a platform nobody in the building can operate.
- Developer platforms — Vapi, Bland, Retell, Synthflow. You get an API and the pieces to build a voice agent. Enormous ceiling, and it assumes somebody on your side writes code. Excellent for a software team; a poor fit for a sales team with no developer.
- Calling suites with AI added — JustCall, Dialpad, Orum. Mature phone systems and diallers where an AI agent is one feature among dozens. You are buying the suite; the AI comes with it.
- Finished AI calling products — FoxEra Calls, and fewer others than the market noise suggests. Upload a list, set the pitch, calls go out. Lower ceiling than a developer platform, no build required.

Note on Vapi: its $0.05/min is not comparable to the others in the table. It covers Vapi’s hosting only, and the speech, language-model and voice costs are passed through on top — its own pricing page says so. Compare it against the rest only after you have added those.
The thing a UK buyer notices first
Six of the eight publish no price in pounds. A UK team comparing Bland against Retell against Vapi is converting dollars, absorbing the exchange rate, and estimating a monthly bill in a currency it does not invoice in. None of that makes those platforms bad — they are strong products — but it is a real cost no roundup mentions, and it is where a lot of UK buyers stall at the spreadsheet stage.
The second thing: this whole query is answered by, and about, US vendors. Support hours, calling windows, number ranges and the rules below are all UK questions that a US pricing page does not attempt.
Which one to shortlist
- You have a developer and want maximum control. Vapi or Retell. Both are genuinely self-serve, both start near zero, and you will build the agent yourself. Bland if you would rather have the model costs bundled into one per-minute number than passed through separately.
- You are buying a phone system anyway. JustCall or Dialpad. Do not buy a separate AI caller to sit beside a phone system you have just bought; the suite is cheaper and one vendor is easier.
- You have a large SDR team and the problem is connect rate. Orum, and expect a sales process rather than a signup. It is a different product from AI cold calling — it makes human reps dial in parallel. We wrote that distinction up separately.

- You are an enterprise with a procurement process. Synthflow is built for exactly that, and the $30,000 floor says so honestly on the page. If that number is a surprise, you are not its buyer.
What none of the pricing pages tells you
UK marketing rules apply to an AI-placed call exactly as they apply to a human one. Identify who is calling, let your number be displayed, screen against the Telephone Preference Service, and honour your own suppression list. A vendor’s per-minute rate has nothing to say about any of it, and the responsibility sits with the business making the calls, not the platform. Also worth knowing before you compare per-minute rates at all: a platform charging per connected minute costs you nothing for a number that rings out, and a large share of any cold list does exactly that. No. Synthflow publishes a $30,000 annual floor and nothing more granular. Dialpad sells its AI agent as a credit pool through sales. Orum’s own pricing link returned a 404 page when we checked it.
Is a cheap per-minute rate the thing to optimise for?
Usually not. Platform fees, model costs passed through separately, minimum concurrency charges and whether ringing time is billable all move the real number more than the headline rate does.
Does the AI replace a salesperson?
No. It handles first contact and qualification. The prospect who says yes still needs a person for the actual sales conversation.
