Your script, your words

Can you use your own script for AI cold calling? Yes — it is yours to write.

The AI agent follows the script you give it. You decide what it says, how it introduces your business, and what questions it asks. Edit it any time, approve it before any calls go out, and adjust it between campaigns.

You control the script completely

When you set up a campaign on FoxEra, you write or edit the calling script before a single call is made. The AI agent — Cass, Alex or Andrea — follows your script, uses your wording, and introduces your business the way you want it introduced.

This is not a fixed template you cannot change. You write the pitch in plain English: who you are, what you offer, and the basic questions the agent should ask. If you do not like the result after the first campaign, change it and run again.

What a good AI calling script needs

The AI agent needs three things from your script to hold a natural conversation:

  • Who you are — your business name, what you do, and where you operate. The agent uses this to introduce itself clearly.
  • What you offer — the specific service or product you are calling about. Be concrete: "commercial electrical maintenance" is better than "our services".
  • What to ask — the qualifying questions that tell you whether this lead is worth following up. For example: "Do you currently have a supplier for this?" or "Would you be open to receiving a quote?"

The agent handles the rest — responding to questions, dealing with objections, and wrapping up politely. Read the full guide on writing an AI cold calling script for detailed advice.

Editing and approving your script

You can edit your script at any time between campaigns. Change the wording, add new qualifying questions, adjust the introduction — whatever you need. The updated script takes effect on the next campaign you run.

Before any calls go out, you review and approve the script. No calls are placed until you have confirmed the wording. This means you never have an AI agent saying something you did not agree to.

If you use an AI assistant connected through the developer connector, your assistant can suggest edits to the script and show you the changes for approval. You still have the final say.

Tailoring scripts to different audiences

If you sell to more than one type of customer, you can write a different script for each group. For example, a B2B sales company might have one script for procurement managers and another for business owners. An agency might have one for hospitality venues and another for professional services firms.

Organise your leads into folders, assign a script to each folder, and run separate campaigns. The AI agent adapts its conversation to whichever script is active. This means you can test different approaches and see which wording gets the best response rate.

What the AI agent does beyond your script

Your script gives the agent its structure, but the AI is not simply reading lines from a page. It listens to the other person, responds to questions it has not been briefed on as honestly as it can, and handles common objections like "we already have a supplier" or "now is not a good time" politely.

Every call is recorded and transcribed, so you can hear exactly how the agent delivered your script. If it handled a particular question poorly, adjust the script to cover that scenario next time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I write my own cold calling script for the AI agent?

Yes. You write the script in plain English before any calls are made. The AI agent follows your wording, your introduction and your qualifying questions exactly as you set them.

Can I change the script between campaigns?

Yes. Edit the script at any time between campaigns. Your changes take effect on the next campaign you run. You can test different approaches and refine based on the call transcripts.

Does the AI agent only say what is in the script?

The script provides the structure and key messages. The agent also responds to questions and objections naturally. Every call is recorded and transcribed so you can review exactly what was said.

Can my AI assistant edit the script for me?

Yes. If you connect an AI assistant through the developer connector, it can propose edits to your script. You review and approve any changes before calls go out.
