Can you stop an AI calling campaign mid-way? Yes — here is how.
You can cancel a running campaign from the dashboard or through your AI assistant. Calls already connected finish naturally; leads not yet dialled stay in your list untouched; and you are only charged for minutes that actually connected.
The short answer: yes, at any time
FoxEra Calls lets you stop a campaign whenever you like. There is no lock-in period, no minimum number of calls, and no penalty for cancelling early. Whether you have called three leads or three hundred, you can pause or cancel from the dashboard or by asking your AI assistant.
This matters because cold calling campaigns are unpredictable. You might realise halfway through that your list needs cleaning, that the script is not landing, or that you have already filled your diary for the week. Being able to stop means you stay in control of your time and your budget.
What happens when you cancel a running campaign
When you cancel a campaign, three things happen:
- Calls already connected finish their conversation naturally. The AI agent does not hang up mid-sentence — it wraps up politely and logs the outcome as usual.
- Leads not yet dialled stay in your folder exactly as they were. They are not marked as called and they are not charged. You can include them in a future campaign whenever you are ready.
- Your bill reflects only connected time. You pay from 12p per connected minute for the calls that were answered. Leads the agent never reached cost nothing.
Every call that did connect is still recorded and transcribed, so you lose nothing by stopping early.
Stopping a campaign from the dashboard
Log in to app.foxera.co.uk, open your active campaign, and press the cancel button. The campaign moves to a stopped state within seconds. You can review every call that was completed, read the transcripts, and listen to recordings — exactly as you would with a finished campaign.
If you want to resume later, create a new campaign from the same folder. The leads that were not dialled are still there, and the ones that were already called are logged so the agent does not phone them again.
Stopping a campaign through your AI assistant
If you have connected ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or another AI assistant to FoxEra via the MCP server or REST API, your assistant can cancel a campaign for you. Ask it to stop the active campaign and it will confirm what was cancelled and how many leads remain.
This is useful when you are on site or away from a laptop. A quick message to your assistant — "stop my calling campaign" — does the same thing as pressing the button in the dashboard, and you get a summary of the results so far.
The same assistant can later help you adjust the calling script, add fresh leads, and launch a new campaign when you are ready.
Why the ability to stop matters
Some calling tools lock you into a fixed batch or charge you for the whole list regardless. With FoxEra, you pay only for the minutes that connected. That means a test campaign of ten leads costs pennies, not pounds, and you can stop at any point without wasting credit.
It also means you can run campaigns experimentally. Try a script on a small batch, read the transcripts, refine the pitch, and run again — without committing your entire list up front. Read more about what a first campaign should aim for and how to judge whether your script is working.
New accounts start with £7 of free calling credit, so your first test costs nothing at all.
What you are charged for when you stop early
You are charged from 12p per connected minute for every call where the prospect actually answered. If the phone rang and nobody picked up, you pay nothing for that lead. If the AI agent spoke for 45 seconds, you pay for 45 seconds.
There is no cancellation fee, no monthly subscription, and no minimum spend. Your remaining £7 credit (or whatever balance you have) stays in your account for next time. You can check your exact spend in the dashboard or ask your AI assistant to pull a cost report.
