AI calling explained

Will the AI call the same person twice?

Every call attempt is logged with its outcome — answered, voicemail, declined — so you always know who was reached and can decide whether a second call makes sense.

How call attempts are tracked

When FoxEra's AI agent (Cass, Alex or Andrea) phones a lead, the outcome is logged immediately: answered, no answer, voicemail, busy, or declined. The transcript and recording are attached to that lead's record so you can see exactly what happened.

This means there is no guesswork. Before deciding whether to call someone again, you can read the transcript, listen to the recording, and check the outcome. Nothing is hidden and nothing is approximate.

You decide who gets called again

FoxEra does not automatically redial leads. A campaign is built from a confirmed list, and every call needs your approval before anyone is phoned. If you want to follow up on leads who did not answer the first time, you create a new campaign with those specific contacts.

This keeps you in control. You are not paying for calls you did not ask for, and nobody receives a call you did not approve. You can review the results of your first campaign, remove anyone who declined, and run a focused follow-up with the rest.

If you use an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude, it can pull the call outcomes via the developer connector and help you build the follow-up list without logging into the dashboard.

What Ofcom says about repeat calls

Ofcom's persistent misuse guidelines state that repeatedly calling the same number in a way that causes annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety can be treated as a misuse of a communications network. This applies to any caller, human or AI.

Good practice means respecting a decline. If someone says they are not interested, remove them from your list. If someone does not answer after a reasonable number of attempts, move on. FoxEra logs every attempt so you have the evidence to show you are calling responsibly.

Setting up a follow-up campaign

After your first campaign, review the outcomes. Leads who answered and showed interest are your priority — follow those up personally. Leads who did not answer might be worth a second attempt on a different day or time.

Create a new folder with only the leads you want to retry. Write a slightly different script that acknowledges the previous attempt — something like "I called last week about…" rather than a cold open. The AI agent will follow your script exactly.

You only pay for connected minutes, from 12p per connected minute, so a short follow-up campaign is inexpensive. Learn more about managing costs on the cost per minute page, or use the cost calculator to estimate your spend.

Using your AI assistant to manage retries

If you connect your AI assistant to FoxEra via the MCP server or REST API, it can review the outcomes of a completed campaign and suggest which leads to retry. It can filter by outcome — for example, showing only leads that went to voicemail — and build a new campaign from that subset.

Your assistant can also preview the cost before anything is dialled, and the campaign still needs your approval. This is especially useful for follow-up sequences where you want to space out attempts over several days.

Frequently asked questions

Does the AI automatically redial leads who did not answer?

No. Every campaign is built from a confirmed list and needs your approval. If you want to retry unanswered leads, you create a new campaign with those contacts.

How many times can I call the same person?

There is no hard limit in the software, but Ofcom's persistent misuse guidelines mean you should not keep calling someone who has declined or who consistently does not answer. Every attempt is logged so you can demonstrate responsible calling.

Can I see what happened on each call?

Yes. Every call is recorded and transcribed. The outcome — answered, voicemail, declined, no answer — is logged against the lead's record so you can review it before deciding on a follow-up.
