From spreadsheet to AI calls — your assistant does the uploading.
You have a spreadsheet of leads. Your AI assistant reads it, uploads the contacts to FoxEra Calls, previews the campaign cost, and waits for your approval before the AI agent phones anyone.
The gap between a spreadsheet and a phone call
Most small businesses keep their leads in a spreadsheet — Google Sheets, Excel, a CSV export from a directory or a trade association list. The leads are there, but calling through them manually takes hours you do not have. Uploading them into a calling platform takes time too, especially if the format needs cleaning.
An AI assistant closes that gap. It can read your spreadsheet through its own connector, extract the names, phone numbers and company details, and upload them to FoxEra Calls in the right format. You do not need to export, convert or manually copy anything.
How the spreadsheet-to-calls workflow works
The process has four steps, and your assistant handles the first three:
- Read the spreadsheet — your assistant opens the file through its own tools (Google Sheets, a file reader, or a pasted CSV) and identifies the columns that contain names, phone numbers and company names.
- Upload leads to FoxEra — the assistant adds each contact to a folder in your FoxEra account using the MCP server or REST API. It maps the spreadsheet columns to the fields FoxEra expects.
- Preview the campaign — the assistant asks FoxEra how many leads are ready, which AI calling agent (Cass, Alex or Andrea) will phone them, and what the estimated cost will be.
- You approve — you review the preview and confirm the campaign should go ahead. The campaign needs your confirmed number and a separate approval before anyone is phoned.
After your approval, the AI agent works through the list, calling each lead, introducing your business and logging every conversation.
What your assistant reads from your spreadsheet
Your assistant needs at minimum a name (or company name) and a phone number for each lead. Beyond that, useful columns include:
- Company name — so the AI agent can address the call to the right business.
- Industry or category — useful if you want to group leads into separate folders and tailor the calling script for each group.
- Location — helpful for mentioning you serve their area.
- Notes — any context that might shape the conversation, such as a previous enquiry or a referral source.
The assistant handles the column mapping. If your spreadsheet has a column called "Tel" instead of "Phone", the assistant works that out. If numbers are formatted inconsistently, it can clean them during upload.
Previewing before anyone is called
The preview step is where you see what is about to happen before it happens. Your assistant shows you the number of leads uploaded, the calling agent assigned, and an estimate of the campaign cost based on your current credit balance.
If the numbers look wrong — perhaps the spreadsheet had blank rows or duplicates — you can ask the assistant to clean the list before approving. You can also ask it to split the leads into smaller batches so you can test with a handful first.
Calls cost from 12p per connected minute with no subscription. New accounts start with £7 of free calling credit. You can see the cost calculator for a detailed estimate, or the pricing page for the full breakdown.
Reviewing the results after the campaign
Once the AI agent has worked through your list, the results come back as call transcripts and recordings. You can review them in the FoxEra dashboard or ask your assistant to pull the data and summarise it for you.
Each call is logged with the outcome — answered, voicemail, not interested, asked for a callback, requested a quote. Your assistant can filter for the warm leads and present them in a format you can act on, or you can read the transcripts directly.
If you want to set up a follow-up sequence for leads who said to try again later, the transcripts give your assistant the context to personalise each follow-up.
Getting started with your first spreadsheet campaign
Connect your AI assistant to FoxEra Calls through the ChatGPT connector or the developer guide. Open your spreadsheet, tell your assistant to upload the leads and preview a campaign. Review the preview, approve, and the AI agent takes over.
Start with a small batch — ten or twenty leads — to see the full workflow end to end. The £7 of free credit on new accounts covers a short test campaign.
If you do not have a lead list yet, the guide on how to build a UK cold calling list covers where to find business contacts and how to organise them in a spreadsheet that your assistant can work with.
Frequently asked questions
Can my AI assistant read my Google Sheets and make calls?
Your assistant reads the spreadsheet through its own tools, uploads the leads to FoxEra, and previews the campaign. The AI calling agent makes the calls after you approve. The assistant itself does not dial anyone.
What format does my spreadsheet need to be in?
Any format your assistant can read — Google Sheets, Excel, CSV or a pasted table. You need at least a name (or company name) and a phone number per row. The assistant handles column mapping and formatting.
How much does it cost to call a spreadsheet of leads?
Calls cost from 12p per connected minute. You only pay for calls where someone answers. New accounts get £7 of free calling credit. Your assistant can preview the estimated cost before you approve.
Can I test with a small batch before calling the whole list?
Yes. Ask your assistant to upload a handful of leads first and run a short test campaign. Review the results, adjust your calling script if needed, and then scale up.
