Can Claude make a phone call? Yes, through a remote MCP connector.

Claude cannot dial a phone on its own
Claude is a text-based AI assistant. It can write, reason and hold a conversation, but it has no phone line, no SIP connection and no way to speak to someone on a live call. If you ask Claude to phone a prospect, it will tell you it cannot do that directly.
What Claude can do is use tools that other services provide. When you connect it to FoxEra Calls through a remote MCP server, Claude gains a set of calling tools it did not have before, and those tools let it manage real phone campaigns on your behalf.
What a remote MCP connector does
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is the standard way to give an AI assistant access to external services without writing code. A remote MCP server sits on the web and provides tools the assistant can call during a conversation.
FoxEra Calls runs a remote MCP server at a public address. When you add that address to Claude, it receives tools for adding leads, choosing a voice agent, building a campaign, reading outcomes and pulling transcripts. What happens when you tell Claude to call your leads
- You give Claude your list of leads and say what you want, for example: add these contacts and have Alex call them this afternoon.
- Claude uses the FoxEra connector to add the leads and build a campaign.
- It shows you a preview: the exact number of people, the time estimate and the cost.
- You approve. FoxEra's voice agent begins dialling.
- Claude reads the results and tells you who answered, who was interested and what was said.
At no point does Claude itself speak on the phone. FoxEra's trained voice agents handle every call.
You approve every campaign before it dials
FoxEra requires every campaign to go through two checks before anyone is phoned. The assistant must confirm the exact number of people who will be called, and you must give a separate approval before dialling starts. Claude is instructed to show you the headcount and wait for your yes.
Your connection works only inside your own FoxEra workspace. Every action is logged and you can revoke access at any time. Changing your password disconnects every assistant immediately.
Reading the results through Claude
After the calls finish, ask Claude what happened. It reads outcomes from FoxEra Calls and reports who answered, who showed interest, who asked to be called back and who declined. You can ask for the full transcript of any conversation or a link to the recording.
